Cooperation with other states

Development of international cooperation is one of the main directions of activity of the UIPVE. International cooperation is carried out in the form of: representation of Ukraine in international organizations of the world level (UPOV), implementation of joint projects in the sphere of plant variety rights protection, membership in international organizations, participation of UIPVE’s researchers in the work of international scientific organizations, international conferences, seminars, exhibition events, exchange of experience, etc.

Cooperation with the Republic of Poland

In 2011, the first signed document on international cooperation between the UIPVE and the Research Centre for Cultivar Testing of the Republic of Poland (COBORU) was the Action Plan in the sphere of examination and protection of plant variety rights between institutions for 2011-2015.

On November 8, 2015, the Action Plan in the sphere of examination and protection of rights to plant varieties of the and Research Centre for Cultivar Testing of the Republic of Poland for 2016-2020 was signed.

During the online meeting on December 21, 2020, the parties agreed and in March 2021 signed the Action Plan in the sphere of examination and protection of rights to plant varieties of the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination and Research Centre for Cultivar Testing of the Republic of Poland for 2021-2025.

Cooperation with the Republic of Moldova

During the visit to the State Commission for Crops Variety Testing on November 6, 2023, the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination (Ukraine) and the State Commission for Crops Variety Testing (Republic of Moldova).

Cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan

On November 26, 2020, the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination and the Centre for Plant Variety Testing of Agricultural Crops of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Cooperation with China

On August 9, 2019, a Memorandum about understanding in the field of agriculture was signed between the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination and the Fu’Jian Sanan Sino-Science Photobiotech Co. Ltd (PRC). The Memorandum envisages cooperation through the exchange of information, experience and research results in the field of agriculture, in particular in the fields of horticulture, vegetable growing and field crops. As well as conducting joint events, namely seminars, trainings, lectures, conferences, etc.

The international activity of the UIPVE is carried out within the framework of agreements on cooperation in the field of state variety testing and protection of plant varieties:

2009 - Agreement between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of testing and protection of plant varieties;

2009 - Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform of the Syrian Arab Republic;

2006 - Agreement between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan on cooperation in the field of state testing and protection of plant varieties;

2004 - Agreement between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Bulgaria on cooperation in the field of testing plant varieties for compliance with the conditions of distinctness, uniformity and stability and protection of rights;

2003 - Agreement between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and the Department of Production of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya on cooperation in the field of testing and plant variety protection;

2002 - Agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine on cooperation in the field of testing and plant variety protection.
