   Within the framework of the grant assistance program «The Programme for Emergency Recovery» from the Government of Japan, and with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the branches of the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination continue to actively use modern agricultural machinery.

   In particular, the Poltava affiliate of UIPVE has successfully completed the harvesting of common sorghum using a new breeding combine harvester. The use of such equipment has significantly improved efficiency: the harvesting process has become faster, more accurate, and safer for the grain. The combine is equipped with an automatic sampling and packaging mechanism for laboratory analyses, as well as systems for measuring moisture content and calculating the yield of the tested varieties.

   This allows for mechanized harvesting without losses or grain damage, which is extremely important for conducting high-quality variety testing.

   We sincerely express our gratitude to the people of Japan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for their valuable assistance and continuous support of the development of the state variety testing system in Ukraine.
