05/06/2024
Come backFrom May 30 to June 05, 2024 Lviv, Rivne, Chernihiv, Poltava and Khmelnytskyi affiliates of the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination received the Breeding combine harvesters under Japanese Grant Assistance “The Programme for Emergency Recovery”.
The small testing plots are used for new plant varieties examination in field within DUS (Distinctness, Uniformity and stability) and VCU (Value for Use for Cultivation) tests. The plots do not exceed 1.5 m in width. That is why it is needed to use an appropriate a combine harvester for yield harvest from testing plots.
Modern breeder combine harvesters meet the requirements to conduct a new plant varieties examination, particularly for yield harvesting from testing plots. The unconditional advantage of such combine harvesters is decreasing seed lost during harvesting, and special additional equipment which is used for seed sampling and packing for laboratorial analysis allows to save labor and time.
The utilization of modern breeder combine harvesters during new plant varieties examination plays a key role for precise and reliable results obtaining.
The implementation of the project is possible with support of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination express its gratitude to people of Japan and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for provided assistance and support of the state plant varieties testing in Ukraine.
Thank to the Crown Agents Japan this project is going smoothly!
