The automatic seed counters received under Japanese Grant Assistance “The Programme for Emergency Recovery” from the Government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) are already utilized at Laboratories and Long-term official seed samples storage department of Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination (UIPVE).

The seed counting is one of the technological processes which is used for seed germination power and energy test and 1000 seeds weight determination. These analyses are carried out at two Laboratories of UIPVE.

The automatic seed counter is also used at the Long-term official seed samples storage department of UIPVE with the aim of providing the precise accounting seeds of the official samples for post-control testing and laboratory studying.

During utilizing the automatic seed counters, it was highlighted significant advantages of this new equipment as the high sensitivity and precision of seed counting, simple mechanism which allows to count seeds of different size, compact overall dimensions, user-friendly interface and the best one – high speed of counting.
