   Ten Plot Seeders have been received by affiliates of the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination (UIPVE) under Japanese Grant Assistance “The Programme for Emergency Recovery” from the Government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

   Lviv affiliate of UIPVE sown the varieties of winter rapeseed for carrying out the field experiments within Distinctness Uniformity and Stability (DUS) testing. Rivne affiliate of UIPVE prepared the field experiment for varieties of winter rapeseed within Value for Use for Cultivation (VCU) testing. The received Plot Seeders were used by affiliates of UIPVE for sowing samples of seed on the small testing plots.

   These seeders have significant advantages for sowing seed on small testing plots. A modular designed plot seeder allows to adjust an individual customization to the plot layout during sowing within DUS and VCU tests. Pneumatic distribution system of a such seeder is used for a very precise lateral seeds distribution. This feature is very important for sowing precision, especially for small grains as rapeseed seeds are.

The Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination express its gratitude to people of Japan and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for provided assistance and support of the state plant varieties testing in Ukraine.
