   The Lviv affiliate of the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination (UIPVE) has started field work using a new tractor provided under the Japanese Grant Assistance “The Programme for Emergency Recovery” through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The Lviv affiliate of UIPVE carried out disking of annual grasses field with the help of the received tractor. Soil cultivation by disking allows solving a number of tasks: controlling weeds, pests and pathogens of cultivated plants; preserving and accumulating soil moisture; activating microbiological processes; preparing for high-quality implementation of further measures of basic soil cultivation.

Modern powerful and versatile tractors with new innovative functions completely meet the requirements for scientific and technical examination of plant varieties in terms of soil preparation and cultivation of experimental fields where new plant varieties are tested. 

The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
