   The Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination announces an important development – in accordance with the decision of the Commission on Publication Ethics and the Compilation of the List of Ukrainian Scientific Journals dated 10 June 2026 (Minutes No. 11), the journal ‘Plant Varieties Studying and Protection’ (‘Plant Variety Research and Protection’) has been included in the List of Ukrainian scientific and specialist publications and assigned category ‘B’ within the ‘Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences’ cluster for a period of three years – from 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2029.

   The award of category ‘B’ to the journal ‘Plant Varieties Studying and Protection’ confirms its compliance with the requirements for scientific specialist publications in Ukraine and enables the publication of results from dissertation research for the degrees of Doctor of Science, Candidate of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in the specialisms of Agronomy, Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, and Agricultural Engineering.

   The journal is published by the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination in collaboration with the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Institute of Breeding and Genetics – the National Centre for Seed Production and Variety Research of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.

   The journal "Plant Varieties Studying and Protection" is a prestigious scientific platform for the publication of research findings in the fields of plant breeding, variety analysis, seed production, genetics, biotechnology, plant variety rights protection and related areas of agricultural science.
