   On July 01, 2024 the operation training of Gel Documentation System with High Sensitivity CMOS Camera was held in the Laboratory of Molecular Genetic Analysis of the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination (UIPVE). This equipment was received under Japanese Grant Assistance “The Programme for Emergency Recovery”.

During the training employees of the Laboratory were got acquainted with user interface, software, settings of the Gel Documentation System. By the supervising of experienced and skillful engineer and methodologist Oleksii Fastivets of the company which represents the manufacturer in Ukraine, employees of the Laboratory mastered the skills of a photo documentation with different dyes under respective light types.

The received Gel Documentation System will be used in UIPVE for varieties studies with storage proteins and DNA markers with the aim of the determination of distinctness and variety identification.

The Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination express its gratitude to people of Japan and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for provided assistance and support of the state plant varieties testing in Ukraine.

The implementation of the project is possible with support of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
